Getting Started with RYPT / S&C Coach Guide

Hello there 👋

If you’re an S&C coach, we recommend that you follow this S&C Coach guide to get started and understand the basics of RYPT. To see our guides for other roles check out the RYPT Trainer Academy.

Inviting Clients/Athletes

Step 1 is getting your clients/athletes onto the system so that you’re ready to share programs with them and monitor their performance.

  • This short video shows you how to invite your clients and athletes to RYPT
  • If you’re working with a team or groups of clients/athletes you can also create your Training Groups to help you manage them as shown in this short video.

PRO TIP /

To get an understanding of what the onboarding experience is like for your clients/athletes, and how the platform and app work together, we recommend adding yourself as an athlete first and scheduling some workouts for yourself.

Adding Test Data

If you’ve done performance testing in advance and you have test data, or if you’re planning to carry out testing before you schedule your programs, then you can capture all your test data with the Testing Dashboard as shown in this short video. This will set baseline data for percentage-based programming using the %1RM metric in their programs, and also for tracking their progress over the course of the program in the analysis dashboards.

Creating and Scheduling programs

The video below takes you through the basics of adding and sharing resources, creating workouts and programs, and then scheduling them for a Training Group or individual.

Video length: 12 mins 14 secs

On the programming page of the RYPT Trainer Academy, you’ll find some more advanced videos such as:

Recording your Clients'/Athletes' Data

There are two ways to record your client’s/athlete’s workout data. They can access their workouts via the RYPT app which can be used for in-person or remote sessions, or if they’re training in-person, you can also use the Gym-mode feature to view their individualised workouts and record their data for them on your tablet or laptop. The video below gives an overview of both the RYPT app and Gym-mode.

You can also find more detailed videos of the RYPT app in the RYPT App Academy, or Gym-mode on the Gym-mode page of the RYPT Trainer Academy.

Your clients/athletes can also capture all of their other data like RPE, GPS, well-being, nutrition, menstrual cycle, steps, and body composition data via the RYPT app.

PRO TIP /

Increase engagement by sending reminders from the calendar.

If you’re also interested in tracking injuries, menstrual cycle tracking, integrating your clients'/athletes' GPS data, and monitoring static and dynamic injury risk, you can get an overview of those features in our Performance PRO demo video.

Monitoring and Making Adjustments

The video below gives you an overview of the basics of the day-to-day monitoring of your client’s/athlete’s data in the calendar and carrying out analysis on their progress over time using the analysis dashboards.

Video length: 3 mins 59 secs

1 / Keep track of everything using the calendar

On the calendar, you can get a complete overview of everything that’s happening with all of your clients/athletes. You’ll see all the workouts you’ve scheduled and as they start recording data, you’ll be able to access it quickly with flags to show you where you might need to dig a little deeper as shown in this short video.

You can switch between Group and Individual view, and a Weekly or Monthly view as shown in this short video, or switch to a workouts-only view, as shown in this short video, to view an individual’s entire training week in detail in one view.

2 / Quickly make adjustments to programs where necessary

It’s inevitable that you’ll need to make changes over the course of the program to tweak volumes and intensities or simply to change schedules. All of these changes can be made quickly and easily through your calendar. This short video shows you how to update and cancel workouts for a group or an individual, and also how to add users to workouts that have been scheduled already.

3 / View all your data on the analysis dashboards

Once your clients/athletes start building up some data you’ll be able to view their progress and monitor their performance on the analysis dashboards. Here you’ll find a dashboard for each of the data types that you’re collecting from your clients/athletes.

Similar to the calendar you can view the data by Training Group or by individual and you can select different time periods to analyze.

You can also export branded PDF reports of any of these dashboards to share with other coaches or your clients/athletes as shown in this short video.

For more video guides on the analysis dashboards, take a look at the analysis page of the RYPT Trainer Academy.
